Tomorrow, or the next day, or several years from now, a woman prepares for a party. Fine combing through every minute detail. She knows that preparation is paramount to the success of these things. She will not forget a single detail. The food, the music, the guest list. Everything will be in order. To let a single detail slip would be the undoing of her. There is stability in control, in preparation and in foresight.

Strain, a site specific piece on the beach, examines how a person obsessively plans one night. Feelings of anxiety and helplessness are explored in relation to the climate crisis; the urge to control areas of one's personal life in response to the feelings that the progression of the planet's decline is out of the hands of an individual. Where do we go from here?
